Wedding Locations

Both Palm Cove and Port Douglas weddings bring a smile to Natalie’s face, the reason being, there are so many locations that a photoshoot can take place and so varied. For both Port Douglas weddings and Palm Cove, you have beaches, jetties, harbours, rainforest, canefields, buildings all set within a wonderful atmosphere.

From a photographers point of view, the colours, contrast, patterns and landscape creates extraordinary wedding photography. You cannot find a more humble, relaxed atmosphere of friendliness and warmth than the combination of Stella Studios as your wedding photographer and your wedding location in either Palm Cove or Port Douglas. Of course, Port Douglas and Palm Cove are the main beaches for weddings. But, for secluded beach weddings or more casual beach weddings there are numerous beaches between Cairns and the Daintree that will suit your needs.

Mission Beach is situated about 1.5 hours south of Cairns. Dunk and Bedarra Islands are both close to this idyllic beach. If you are looking for a quieter wedding, than this is the place instead of Port Douglas or Palm Cove.

These are not the only locations set amongst the magnificent Cairns backdrop. Cairns itself is wonderful. Winter is the best time for a cairns wedding as the weather is cool, the skies are blue and everything is fresh. There are so many hotels and resorts scattered throughout the Cairns district that are excellent in providing a grand service to a bride and groom. Locations are plentiful and Stella Studios endeavours to find unique locations that suit the bride and groom and their personalities.

Then there are the Tablelands and Mission Beach. The Atherton Tablelands can be anywhere between and hour or two drive from Cairns. It is always worth considering because the backdrop is gorgeous. Rolling hills, greenery, World Heritage rainforest, lakes, coffee plantations, farms – if you are after a country feel than this is the place.
